When we are attempting to solve a problem or overcome a challenge it is imperative we seek out the root cause. “This is generally referred to as Root Cause Analysis, finding the real cause of the problem and dealing with it rather than simply continuing to deal with the symptoms.” (Systems Thinking, 2012) During each election cycle, over the past 100+ years at least, citizens are fed a large number of issues with many personalities explaining how, if elected, they will be the champions of change and the one who will fix issues. The Sum of Good Government
Today we are seeing a struggle between two seemingly different philosophies for governing our society. Political parties are not the divide as members of both major parties share similar views while third party involvement has little impact on the daily government decisions. Bill O’Reilly summed up the choices by stating the choice is self-reliance or entitlements. That’s a very good view of where we are yet those in elected federal office seem to be divided more on the entitlement side of this divide.
