News reports surrounding the resignation of Alaska Gov. Sarah Pal
in are missing important points. What they aren’t missing is their piercing attacks on her character.
Is she a quitter? Did she look at the level of her responsibility and say she cannot carry such a burden? Play the tunes of political power-mongering and the answer is yes to both questions. This is the story you must be aware of. Her reasons are purely based on her inability to carry on the duties of Alaska Governor. Yet students of history see a different perspective.
Rarely seen at any point throughout history, in any one person came the ability for George Washington to relinquish power for the improvement of future success. After the Revolutionary War many would have named him King George of America. However, General George Washington relinquished his sword and title as Commander-in-Chief. Those who take the time to get to know Washington and his friends realize this was only the first time he would retire to civilian life instead of rule.
Sarah Palin does not rule Alaska. However, there was no reason for her to step down except one. Those people who entrusted her through their votes and those who rely on her through their citizenship were not able to influence their government with the constant, frivolous attacks. Her Lieutenant Governor, Sean Parnell, embraces the direction based on liberty. Alaskan are personally responsible, mutually respectful people which equates to living under liberty. We rarely see, from either faction nor any office of title among the factions we refer to as parties, an act approaching the symbolic, peaceful surrender of the sword.
Your personal beliefs regarding Gov. Palin are not as important as your convictions surrounding our United States Constitution. Do we need factional, special interest groups like the Republicans and Democrats grinding our society to a halt. Sarah Palin relinquishes her sword. Study our history and see today’s news from an entirely different view.
